Situations frågor.
Nu vill jag veta vad ni hade gjort i de här situationerna:
1. What would you do if you were in the park with the Kathleen and it was getting to be close to dinner time, and she did not want to leave? What if that didn't work? And that didn't work?
2. What if the children wanted to go to the library with you but it was too close to dinner time and you needed to start making dinner. They begged you to take them for a short trip. What would you do?
3. Give me an example where you saw something that needed to be done where you were not told ahead of time, and you took care of it.
4. If all the kids needed your attention at the same time, yelling, "Mikaela, Mikaela, Mikaela," how would you deal with this?
5. What would you do in the situation if Byron needed help with his homework, Madeline was making cookies and had just spilled the milk, Kathleen had fallen outside and scraped her knee and was crying, and the phone was ringing...how would you handle this? What would you do and why?
6. If I tell you that there is no TV before 6 pm, but the kids beg you to let them watch a "special" show and it's at 4:30 pm, what would you do?
7. What would you do if Byron wanted to play on the computer but had not yet finished his homework or practiced is piano. When he refused to turn off the computer, what would you do?
8. What would you do if Madeline asked to go over to a friend's house after school and you needed to take Kathleen to a dance class at that time. What would you say to Madeline? What options or choices would you give her?
9. What would you do with the kids on a hot summer day? What kinds of activities would you do to engage their interest? List as many things that you would like to do with them.
10. What would you do with the kids if they had a day off of school in the winter? List as many things you would like to do with them.

2. Skulle säga nej och förklara varför det inte går just nu, men säga att vi kan gå till biblioteket en annan dag, att det kommer en dag imorgon också.

Först: Ta hand om Kathleen, eftersom hon skadat sig, trösta och se till att hon är okej. Hjälpa Byron med läxfrågan eller säga att man kommer och hjälper inom två minuter. Se till/hjälpa Madeline torka upp. När läget är under kontroll ringer jag vem det nu var som ringde. Alternativt får den personen ringa igen.
6. Säga att deras mamma sagt nej och att ett nej är ett nej. Däremot skulle jag kunna tänka mig att spela in det åt dem, så de kan se det efter klockan 6.
7. Först varna att jag tänker dra ut sladden och dra in hans datortid om han inte lyder. Gör han inget då, så drar jag ut strömsladden och tar den med mig (så att han inte kan sätta i den igen).
8.Säga till henne att Kathleen har dansklass och att jag måste ta M dit. Frågar vilken kompis det är, ringer dit och frågar om det finns en vuxen där som har uppsikt över barnen om jag skickar över henne (alternativt kör henne om det är en bit dit, iaf se till att hon kommer dit). Om det är väldigt olämpligt eller inte funkar med kompisen just den dagen så säger jag att de kan leka en annan dag, att hon kan följa med och att vi gör något annat tillsammans.
9. Ta dem till poolen/stranden, leka med vattenspridare eller vattenpistoler, spela boule eller kubb eller annan lek. Blåsa såpbubblor.
10. Ta dem till bibilioteket, shopping mall, IKEA, gå ut och åka snowracer/pulka om det är mycket snö, åka skridskor, etc.
